The Meta Data Window

The DrasticPreview Meta Data window may be opened via the right click menu, or by pressing the letter "M" on the keyboard while the right click menu is active. The Meta Data window offers information regarding the selected digital media file.

Note: some files may not return any values for specific fields, where there is no data to return. For example, a video-only file will not display any audio handling information.

1. File Information pull down menu - offers details on the selected media, including File Name, Author, Native Locator etc.
2. File Information Display window - displays the text of the information selected in the File Information pull down menu. If the user hovers over the File Information Display window, a "Tool Tips" window will open and display the full text of the information provided.
3. Duration - this row displays the length of the selected media in standard SMPTE time code format (HH:MM:SS;FF).
4. FPS (frames per second) - this row displays the frame rate of the selected media.
5. Width - this row displays the width (horizontal dimension) of the video frame in pixels.
6. Height - this row displays the height (vertical dimension) of the video frame in pixels.
7. Bit Depth - this row displays the bit depth (a setting that affects resolution) for the video portion of the selected media.
8. FourCC - this row displays the FourCC Handler information (codec specific data) of the selected media.
9. Bit Rate - this row displays the Bit Rate (bits per second) setting for video portion of the selected media.
10. Audio Bits/ Sample - this row displays the number of bits per sample setting for the audio portion of the selected media.
11. Audio Frequency - this row displays the audio sampling rate setting for the audio portion of the selected media.
12. Audio Channels - this row displays the number of audio channels associated with the selected media.
13. Video Channels - this row displays the number of video files associated with the selected media.
14. File Information Display "Tool Tips" window - displays the full text of the information offered in the File Information Display window. This window pops up whenever a user moves their mouse pointer over the File Information Display window.
